Tampering Policy - August 15, 2022
TAMPERING WITH THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS A SERIOUS OFFENCE.
First Offence: Disconnection of service for six (6) months; plus a $1,000.00 tampering penalty for the first tampered unit; plus additional administration and/or operations costs and water usage fees as determined by our Operator. If tampering is found with additional units owned by the same landowner, there will be an additional tampering penalty of $1,000.00/unit for all additional units affected (in addition to the initial unit), plus additional admin/operations costs and water usage fees as determined by our Operator.
Second Offence: Permanent disconnection of service at unit location(s) and possible loss of membership, plus additional administration and operations costs and water usage fees as determined by our Operator.
Zero Tolerance.
Tampering is defined as, but not limited to, “disconnecting, bypassing or modifying LNCPWC installed cistern emitter assembly, or size of emitter”, by any member without the consent of the LNCPWC Board, or our Operator, contacted at 403-380-6918.
We are a Co-op, and any misuse of the system ultimately affects others. Some members may experience a shortage of water, and tampering incurs high costs to our operations. This may also result in the contamination of the potable water system, which becomes a safety issue for us all. It is mandatory that we maintain compliance with the provincial and local government authorities to continue servicing our members with safe potable water.
