Water Service Transfers
When a property connected to the Lethbridge North County Potable Water Co-op is bought or sold, the water service and LNCPWC membership must be formally transferred to the new landowner. Water service does not transfer automatically with possession.
Below is a simple overview of the process.
Step 1: Complete the Required Forms
The new landowner must complete:
These documents confirm acceptance of the Co-op’s operating guidelines, fee schedule, and membership obligations.
Step 2: Submit Documentation Before Possession
To avoid delays:
Forms should be submitted at least 5 business days prior to possession.
All required fields must be completed.
Any outstanding balances must be resolved prior to transfer approval.
Incomplete or late submissions may delay billing updates or service activation.
Step 3: Transfer Administration Fee
A Transfer Administration Fee of $250.00 will be applied on the first billing cycle following possession.
Monthly water fees (active or idle status) will begin under the new owner as of the possession date.
Step 4: Confirmation
Once documentation has been reviewed and approved, the Co-op office will update its records and confirm the transfer.
Important Notes for Buyers & Sellers
The former landowner remains responsible for charges up to the possession date.
The new landowner becomes responsible as of possession.
Water delivery limits remain subject to the Member’s emitter capacity and applicable agreements.
Rates are established by the Board of Directors and are subject to change with written notice.
